Oprah Neighbors Furious Over Giant Wall

Oprah Winfrey’s lavish real estate renovations in Montecito, California have caused concern among her neighbors due to their potential to damage the neighborhood.

The American talk show host has built an impressive portfolio of property and land in the area, and has gone to great lengths to protect her estate from the risks of natural disasters, such as flooding and mudslides.

In fact, Oprah recently enlisted builders to erect a boulder wall on her Santa Rosa Lane property to prevent creek erosion and flooding.

While the wall was installed to protect Oprah’s property, her neighbors fear that it could push floodwater onto other properties during heavy rainfall. Montecito is an area that is prone to weather disasters, and a mudslide in the neighborhood caused 23 deaths in 2018.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also reside in the coastal town, which is situated between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Ynez Mountains, making it vulnerable to natural disasters, including floods and mudslides.

According to reports, residents have voiced their fears over the damage and chaos the wall could potentially cause. Sharon Byrne, executive director of the Montecito Association, expressed concerns about altering creek canals and not expecting any results, stating that creeks will shift and move on their own. The wall was erected by Jimenez Nursery, and the company obtained a permit on February 1, just weeks after the area was evacuated due to weather.

Officials and inspectors have met up and taken a look at the wall following a complaint that was filed to the Santa Barbara County Planning and Development Department. John Zorovich, a deputy director for the department, confirmed that an investigation is ongoing. Oprah’s neighbors are reportedly quite worried about the wall and the potential damage it could cause to other properties in the area.

In conclusion, while it is important to protect one’s property from the risks of natural disasters, it is also crucial to consider the impact on neighboring properties. The concerns of Oprah’s neighbors highlight the importance of community and the need for open communication and cooperation in times of crisis. Ultimately, it is essential to strike a balance between individual property rights and the collective good of the community as a whole.

  1. Since when does Oprah give a rap about anyone but herself.
She’s all smoke, mirrors, and hypocrisy
Never liked her – never will. Phony.as the come.

    1. Gee….How many millions have you given to charities and/or to start schools for underserved communities ?
Compare her good deeds to Trump Foundation which was ordered to shut for corruption OR those fake hypocrite TV pastors and you may find Oprah to be better by miles

      1. she has supported schools in Africa while AMERICAN children of color suffer inferior schools.
how about helping your own in AMERICA before you go to foreign countries?
when every child of any color has superior educational opportunities in AMERICA , then you can do good in outside countries.

  2. Keeping rivers/creeks from spreading out on low lands as they flood just causes the flood waters to rise much higher… causing even more damage…

  3. If it was somebody else more Caucasian, I suspect the comments would be more positive.
In reality, if I had a multimillions property (same as her neighbors) I would do all legally possible to mitigate any damages to it.
I am not an engineer, but I fail to see why a wall to mitigate erosion be any harm to neighbors that may live down the hill. It seems that if rocks and soil from my property go down the hill, it would be worst for those people.

BUT, This is America where everybody have the tendency to bitch about something all the time.
