The FBI Shut Down 4 Hillary Clinton Investigations Prior to 2016

A recent report by Special Counsel John Durham has shed light on the FBI’s investigation into potential criminal activities involving Hillary and Bill Clinton. The report reveals that at least four separate investigations were conducted by the FBI, but all were ultimately shut down by senior officials prior to the 2016 presidential election. These revelations have sparked calls from Republicans to reopen the investigations and thoroughly examine the alleged wrongdoing. In this article, we delve into the details of the report and explore the reactions and opinions surrounding the case.

The FBI’s Investigations and Closure

The report discloses that the FBI initiated investigations into the Clintons based on claims made by a confidential source in late 2014. The source alleged that two foreign governments were attempting to make illegal donations to Hillary’s presidential campaign to gain influence. Furthermore, three different FBI field offices in Washington, D.C., Little Rock, Arkansas, and New York, launched investigations into the Clinton Foundation in early 2016, suspecting potential criminal activities.

One of the investigations was partly prompted by journalist Peter Schweizer’s book, “Clinton Cash,” which asserted that the Clinton Foundation received millions of dollars in donations from foreign governments seeking to influence US foreign policy while Hillary served as Secretary of State.

Despite making progress, all four criminal investigations were ultimately shut down by senior officials, according to Durham’s report. The closure of these investigations has raised concerns among Republicans, who argue that they warrant further scrutiny.

Calls for Reopening the Investigations

Prominent Republicans, including Florida Representative Matt Gaetz and former House Oversight Committee Chair Jason Chaffetz, have called for a renewed investigation into the alleged criminal activities involving the Clintons. Gaetz accused the Clintons of having a team at the FBI working to protect them from criminal accountability and stressed the need for additional exposure and review of these matters. Chaffetz expressed his dissatisfaction with the FBI’s failure to complete the investigations and emphasized the importance of revisiting the probes, suggesting that Congress should hold hearings with the field agents involved.

Durham’s Report and Reaction

The 316-page report by Special Counsel John Durham, delivered to Attorney General Merrick Garland on May 12, compared the FBI and Justice Department’s investigation into Trump’s connections with Russia with their allegedly lackluster approach to the Clinton probes. The report highlighted the FBI’s cautious handling of the Clinton investigations, tiptoeing around the former Secretary of State.

Durham’s report revealed that the FBI was also investigating evidence of two foreign governments attempting to influence Hillary Clinton with illegal campaign donations during her 2016 presidential run. The FBI had a confidential source who provided information about one foreign government planning to make illegal contributions to Clinton’s campaign. Additionally, the source claimed that Clinton’s campaign was aware of and potentially complicit in a second foreign influence attempt.

Critics argue that the FBI failed to thoroughly pursue these alleged illegal donation schemes or adequately document them, urging a reevaluation of the case.

Response from the Clinton Camp

In response to the claims of alleged wrongdoing requiring FBI investigation, a spokesperson for the Clinton Foundation stated that the Durham report emphasized that there had never been any evidence of wrongdoing by the foundation. The spokesperson also referred to Schweizer’s book as “unvetted hearsay” and highlighted previous investigations by the Trump administration’s Justice Department and House Republicans in 2018, which concluded with no evidence of wrongdoing.

  1. The Supervisors in charge of the Investigations should be fired along with their superiors as part of the re organization of both the FBI and Department of Justice because Justice is no longer blind–it has become a POLITICAL WEAPON. We need to do whatever it takes to bring back what the FOUNDING FATHERS put together even if it takes poking a stick into Lady Justice’s eyes—in my opinion. grvn

  2. Lock them all up! Totally corrupt. Our government is a disgrace. Sickening. I couldn’t be anymore ashamed of being an American right now.
