Authorities in Tampa, Florida are asking for the public’s help in identifying the culprit who stole almost $11,000 worth of meat and cooking supplies during a blatant break-in at a well-known neighborhood eatery. The event, which was captured on surveillance footage, has prompted an inquiry to identify and apprehend the offender.
According to the Tampa Police Department, the break-in happened at 11:26 p.m. on Thursday, August 17. A man suspect is seen behind Bayshore Mediterranean Grill in police-released surveillance film, forcing a storage door open with a big pair of pliers to obtain illegal access to the restaurant’s storage area.
Once entering, the suspect was seen on tape robbing the restaurant of its supplies and leaving with a big haul of meats and cooking utensils valued at $10,885. The thief was observed packing the pilfered items into a black garbage bag.
Since then, local officials have made the CCTV footage available to the public and asked for assistance in identifying the burglary suspect. Residents are being urged by detectives to see the video and come forward with any information that could help with the investigation.
The police have been working hard to find leads and compile evidence so they can prosecute the offender.
