A 5-year-old boy who loved Spider-Man and was described by his family as a “loving pure soul” died suddenly while staying overnight at a friend’s house.

Jagger Wing was found unresponsive at the home of a family friend’s parents in Newburgh, Indiana, on May 30, according to his family. He was later taken to a hospital, where he died.

The heartbreaking tragedy has left his parents searching for answers.

Jagger’s mother, Alex, 29, said there is a history of underlying heart conditions in the family, but doctors are still investigating what caused her son’s sudden death.

Before he was found unresponsive, Jagger had been playing with his friend after spending time outside.

“He had played hard outside,” Alex told WCTV.

“He was with his friends. He was staying the night at a friend’s house when it happened,” she said. “My best friend of 17 years and I can’t imagine that feeling and situation. I hate that I wasn’t there.”

Jagger was remembered by family friends as “a beautiful, energetic, loving, caring, and pure soul.”

He had a huge love for Spider-Man and was supposed to start kindergarten in August.

His mother said he was an active, curious little boy who had recently learned how to ride a bike.

“He just learned how to ride a bike. He loved to be active. He loved to question everything we were doing,” Alex said.

Jagger also loved wrestling and started the sport when he was just 4 years old.

His father, Damon, 31, said his son loved copying moves he saw on TV and was always eager to be in motion.

“He wanted to wrestle,” Damon said. “There was no sitting on your butt. He wanted to try for a double leg. He watched every UFC fight with me.”

“He just loved the game,” he added.

Jagger was also a devoted brother to his older and younger sisters.

“He was definitely a protector of his sisters,” Alex said.

After his death, Jagger’s siblings were tested for possible underlying heart issues, but their results came back normal, according to the family.

A fundraiser has been created to help the family with funeral expenses and has raised more than $20,000.

As doctors continue working to determine what happened, Jagger’s family is remembering him as a joyful little boy with a big heart, boundless energy and a deep love for the people around him.
