A high-speed police chase through suburban Detroit ended in chaos when a driver crashed straight into an Ulta Beauty store this past Sunday morning.

The wild pursuit began just before 1 a.m., when Royal Oak police tried to pull over a white SUV after receiving a report of a vehicle driving on train tracks. Dashcam footage shows the SUV weaving through neighborhoods and alleyways at high speeds before crashing head-on through the store’s front windows.

Officers jumped out of their vehicles as the driver reversed violently into a police cruiser and continued smashing the SUV through the store’s interior, turning the scene into something straight out of an action movie. Authorities were eventually able to stop the vehicle and arrest the driver and a passenger.

Police allege the driver, 26-year-old Katrina Patterson, had an open alcohol container in the car and initially refused to hand over her license before fleeing. Patterson faces multiple charges, including third-degree fleeing, assaulting or resisting police, felonious assault, and malicious destruction of property. The passenger was ticketed for having open alcohol in the vehicle and released.

The full extent of the damage to Ulta isn’t clear, but it’s safe to say the store will need more than just a little mascara and lip liner to recover from this crash.
