Man Stabs Planet Fitness Employee After Getting Banned from Gym

A routine workout turned into a nightmare after a shocking stabbing inside a Pennsylvania gym left one man fighting for his life.

Authorities say Davier Massey, 28, is now facing attempted murder charges after allegedly attacking a Planet Fitness employee in broad daylight—despite already being banned from the gym.

The violent scene unfolded around 12:30 p.m. in the Wyncote section of Cheltenham Township, just outside Philadelphia. Police rushed to the location after reports of a stabbing and arrived to find a male employee suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The victim was immediately transported to a nearby trauma center in critical condition. As of now, officials have not released an update on his status.

Investigators say the chaos erupted following some kind of confrontation between Massey and the employee. What exactly sparked the altercation remains unclear, but police confirmed Massey had previously been banned from the gym before returning.

Witnesses described a scene that felt almost unreal.

“I can’t believe this. I feel like I’m in a dream right now,” one gym-goer told local reporters.

Another said the incident was especially disturbing given the normally positive atmosphere inside the gym.

“All the employees are nice… uplifting,” the witness said. “It’s a little shocking for something to happen right here.”

Massey didn’t get far.

Police say he was taken into custody a short distance from the gym shortly after the attack. He’s now facing a serious list of charges, including attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and possession of an instrument of crime.

Authorities confirmed bail has been denied, and Massey is currently being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility as he awaits his next court appearance.
