A disturbing case out of Colorado has taken another turn after a woman accused of a brutal killing was ruled mentally unfit to stand trial—for now.
Shenting Guo, 33, is facing a second-degree murder charge in the death of her boyfriend, Dustin Nalls, 38, following a violent incident in May 2024 that shocked investigators.
According to authorities, the couple had been arguing when things escalated in a major way. Guo allegedly admitted to stabbing Nalls during the confrontation, telling police she was overcome with anger.
But the attack didn’t stop there.
Investigators say Guo carried out further acts of violence during the incident. Despite the severity of the situation, she reportedly left the home afterward to buy items like rubbing alcohol, antibiotics, and beer—but no medical supplies that could have helped treat his injuries.
Authorities say Nalls later died from his wounds.
The situation leading up to the alleged attack appears to have stemmed from a dispute involving a possible pregnancy, though officials later confirmed that Guo was not pregnant.
Now, the case is on hold.
Last November, Guo was declared incompetent to stand trial after evaluations by mental health professionals. She has since been placed on a waiting list for treatment at a state mental health facility in Pueblo, where doctors will work to determine if she can eventually face trial.
If her competency is restored, the case will move forward in court.
