Tensions between Ukraine and Russia escalated once again during a gathering of Black Sea nations in the Turkish capital on Thursday. The incident occurred when a Ukrainian delegate punched a Russian delegate in the face after his Ukrainian flag was snatched away.

The altercation took place in a hallway of the parliament building, where the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) assembly was being held.

Earlier in the day, Ukrainian delegates had staged a protest, shouting and holding their flags next to Russia’s lead delegate as she tried to address the assembly.

The situation quickly escalated, and some Ukrainian delegates scuffled with security officers who had tried to pull them away. Later, the Ukrainian delegate, Olesandr Marikovski, posted a video of himself punching the Russian delegate and retrieving the blue and yellow flag on his Facebook page.

The incident sparked a reaction from Mustafa Sentop, the head of the Turkish parliament, who issued a stiff rebuke. He condemned the behavior that disrupted the peaceful environment that Turkey was trying to establish during the BSEC assembly. The pictures of the disturbance were posted on the Turkish parliament’s website.

The attack happened while representatives from the 13 countries in the BSEC met. Despite the ongoing conflict, Russia continued to attack the Ukrainian capital Kyiv with drones during the meeting.

The war between Ukraine and Russia has been ongoing for several years now, devastating towns and cities, killing thousands of people, and driving millions from their homes.

The incident is the latest in a series of escalations between the two countries. Relations between Ukraine and Russia have been strained since Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, leading to conflict in eastern Ukraine.

The war has been ongoing ever since, with both sides accusing each other of aggression. Despite occasional peace talks, no resolution has been reached, and the conflict shows no signs of abating. The incident at the BSEC assembly is just the latest in a series of violent incidents between the two countries, highlighting the ongoing tension and hostility that exists between them.

  1. War in Ukraine is still more of the 1,000 year old split in the Catholic Church between Roman Catholic Western Europe and Eastern Orthodox Catholic Russia and Serbia…
The Christian countries expelled the Jews into the rugged unwanted area known as ‘The Pale’ which is now called Ukraine… hence Ukraine has a Jewish President…

  2. You would never get a dem to do that for OUR Flag They would help them stomp on it

  3. maybe the Russia delegate had to use the bathroom, He had to wipe, afterwards. that is all Ukraine is good for.
