Meghan Markle’s conduct since leaving the royal family in 2020 has left a bitter taste in the mouth of British etiquette teacher Edmund Fry, who once schooled her in the ways of the upper crust.

Fry, 83, who runs the Rose Tree Cottage restaurant in Pasadena, California, expressed his dismay at Markle’s behavior and criticized her and Prince Harry for their public attacks on the monarchy.

In an interview with The Sun, Fry revealed that he was “appalled” by Markle’s actions, particularly in relation to their Netflix deal and the Oprah Winfrey interview where they made claims about racism within the royal family.

According to Fry, these revelations tainted his perception of Markle and her conduct. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been vocal about their experiences since stepping back from their royal duties, including the highly publicized interview with Oprah Winfrey, a streaming docuseries titled “Harry & Meghan,” and Harry’s upcoming memoir, “Spare.”

Fry shared that his customers, who are loyal to King Charles, refrain from discussing Markle while enjoying their tea and treats at his restaurant. He stated that his clientele felt let down by Markle’s actions and suggested that the couple had squandered an opportunity to contribute positively to the Commonwealth.

Fry recalled meeting Markle in 2017 when she became engaged to Prince Harry and moved to London. At the time, he had offered her his full support and taught her about royal etiquette. In an interview with the Daily Mail, he had mentioned how the younger generation lacked knowledge of proper etiquette and sought guidance for social events. He specifically highlighted Markle’s interest in learning how to have tea with Queen Elizabeth.

However, recent events have soured Fry’s opinion of Markle. He expressed his disappointment with the couple’s public criticisms of the royal family, emphasizing that ordinary people would not speak ill of their own family members in such a manner.

The timing of Harry’s memoir announcement also received criticism. With Queen Elizabeth’s health deteriorating prior to her passing last September, a close friend of the late monarch claimed that the couple’s relentless interviews and films attacking the royal family were incredibly hurtful. The friend stated that Harry should have shown more sensitivity and refrained from announcing his memoir during such a difficult time.

As opinions on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s actions continue to vary, their choices and public statements remain a topic of debate and scrutiny. The dynamics between the couple and the royal family continue to evolve, leaving both supporters and critics with differing perspectives on their conduct and impact.

  1. Why is this C.U.N.T. still being given publicity? WE DON’T CARE! There are other people and stories that can be written about!
How about raising money to save dogs and cats from the Asian meat markets or for veterans or something worthwhile. We’re so sick of hearing about her and Harry!!!!

  2. These two people need to stop airing their dirty linen and get a decent job, they are still trying to live off the royal family. So disappointed in Harry, thought he would have had the decency to shut up while his grandmother was in a fragile state and age. Sick of the two of them!!!
