Shoppers at a Maryland mall are on edge after a violent group attack—caught on video—left a man beaten and robbed in broad daylight.
Police say a group of nine teens targeted a male victim inside Westfield Wheaton Mall on March 16, in what authorities describe as a coordinated assault.
According to the Montgomery County Police Department, the group followed the victim into the mall around 11:30 a.m. That’s when one suspect suddenly struck him from behind, hitting him in the head.
Seconds later, the situation escalated.
Video shows multiple suspects piling on, attacking the man as he fell to the ground. While he was down, the group allegedly continued the assault before stealing his shoes and running out of the mall.

Police say the suspects include several teenage boys and girls and were last seen wearing dark tops and tan pants. Detectives are now asking for the public’s help in identifying those involved, with tips eligible for a reward.
But what’s making the situation even more alarming is this wasn’t an isolated incident.
Just weeks earlier, in February, another violent attack took place at the same mall.
In that case, police say a man was inside a restroom when seven suspects approached him—some reportedly armed with knives. The group allegedly assaulted him and stabbed him in the arm before fleeing. The victim survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities noted similarities between the two incidents, including the suspects’ clothing and the group-style attacks, raising concerns about a possible pattern.
Online reaction has been intense, with many expressing outrage over the brazen violence happening in a public space during the day. Some questioned mall security, while others voiced concern about rising crime and personal safety.

Very clear picture of these criminals . Nothing but cowards sucker punching people and carrying knives but one on one not tough. The parents of these lowlifes should be charged they know who they hang out with and should know where they are, not out attacking people. If they charged more of these parents this crap would stop. I going to bet the first thing g the parents will say is what good kids they are, what a load of crap. Lock them all up and charge them as adults I don’t care their age.
I totally agree. Also, they all look school age and the tan pants look uniform like. Why were they at the mall at 11:30am? You can clearly make out the majority of them, someone has to know them. What if they went in the ladies room and did something even worse? The parents need to find out and be responsible for their children’s actions.
