A shocking video captured the moment a military plane crashed at an airbase in India, flipped over, and burst into flames, killing five people on board while one co-pilot somehow survived.

The Indian Air Force aircraft was taking part in a training exercise when disaster struck at Rowriah Airbase in Assam.

Security footage reportedly shows the Soviet-era Antonov AN-32 touching down normally before suddenly veering off the runway. Seconds later, the plane overturned in a grassy area and exploded into flames.

Firefighters rushed to the crash site and battled the fire, but five military personnel were killed.

Officials identified the victims as Squadron Leader Prashant Singh, Flight Lieutenant Shubham Kumar, Sergeant Jitendra Sharma, Agniveervayu Khemaram Kumawat, and Agniveervayu Danish Alam.

In a stunning turn, the aircraft’s co-pilot survived the fiery wreck but was left seriously injured.

“IAF extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and stands firmly with them in this hour of grief,” the Indian Air Force said in a statement.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The AN-32 is a Soviet-era tactical transport aircraft that has long been used by the Indian Air Force for cargo and military operations.

The deadly crash comes just months after another Indian Air Force tragedy in Assam. In March, two pilots were killed when a Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jet went down during a routine training mission.

The latest disaster has once again raised concerns about the dangers faced by military crews during training flights, where even a routine landing can turn catastrophic in seconds.
