Eight Children Struck by Vehicle While Waiting for School Bus

A frightening scene unfolded in Pennsylvania early Wednesday morning when eight children were struck by a vehicle while waiting for their school bus.

The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of West Butler Street and Maple Street in Mercer, according to Mercer County dispatchers.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and transported all eight students to local hospitals.

The children were taken to UPMC Shenango and AHN Grove City hospitals for evaluation and treatment.

Authorities said the injuries reported so far appear to be minor.
