A Florida father and his 17-year-old twins were found dead inside their Orange County home in what investigators believe was a murder-suicide.

Deputies made the disturbing discovery on Wednesday, Sept. 30, after responding to a home in the 1200 block of Courtney Chase Circle for a well-being check.

Inside the residence, deputies found twins Carlo Montiel Infantino and Melanie Montiel Infantino dead in the living room.

Both teenagers had suffered multiple stab wounds, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Their father, Ivan Montiel Roa, was also found dead inside the home. Authorities said he was discovered in the master bathroom.

Detectives currently believe Roa killed both of his children before taking his own life.

The sheriff’s office has not released a possible motive and has not said when investigators believe the deaths occurred.

The case remains under investigation.

Carlo and Melanie were students at Cypress Creek High School, according to local reports.

Orange County Public Schools said administrators had been notified of the deaths of two students and that grief counselors were being made available to students and staff.

The deaths have stunned people in the surrounding Hunter’s Creek community.

Florida State Rep. Rita Harris, who lives near the area, described the situation as devastating.

“It’s devastating as a mom, as a human being,” Harris said, adding that tragedies involving young victims can have a profound impact on families, neighbors and first responders.

Few additional details about what happened inside the home have been released.

Investigators have not publicly said who requested the well-being check or what prompted concern about the family.

Authorities also have not disclosed how Roa died.

The investigation continues.
