Time flies when you’re having fun, and that’s exactly what Angeline Jolie seemed to be doing during her three-hour lunch date with billionaire heir David Mayer de Rothschild. The two were spotted at the celebrity hotspot Nobu in Malibu, California, chatting and laughing away as paparazzi snapped photos of them.
Jolie, dressed in a chic black dress with midsection cutouts, paired the look with matching black heels and sunglasses.
The Maleficent star looked stunning as she walked to her car, pushing back her hair for the cameras.
Mayer de Rothschild, part of the world’s richest family, appeared to be in good spirits as well, dressed in smart casual attire consisting of navy blue slacks, a grey shirt, jacket, black loafers, and funky striped socks.
The 6-foot-4 businessman flashed a smirk and laughed along with Jolie, enjoying the sunny Malibu weather.
Reps for Jolie did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on whether the lunch was work-related or a casual hangout.
Both Jolie and Mayer de Rothschild have interests in activism, with the latter being an advocate for environmentalism and an ambassador for the Hyundai IONIQ, the first automobile built from the ground up and specifically available as a hybrid or electric-powered car.
Meanwhile, Jolie left her post in December 2022, saying at the time, “I will continue to do everything in my power in the years to come to support refugees and other displaced people.”
The actress has not been in a serious relationship publicly since her split from ex-husband Brad Pitt in 2016, and the two have been unable to finalize all the details of their divorce due to pending custody and asset issues.
Jolie has been linked to other celebrities, including the Weeknd and Paul Mescal, but neither relationship was confirmed. Mayer de Rothschild, on the other hand, was married to Karina Deyko in 2020, and it’s unclear whether he’s currently single or not.
Despite the lack of information about their lunch date, it’s clear that Jolie and Mayer de Rothschild had a great time.
Whether it was for business or pleasure, the two enjoyed each other’s company, and fans can only hope that they’ll see more of this unlikely pair in the future.
