When a missing 14-year-old girl was found in the barracks last month, authorities detained a Marine stationed at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California. The youngster was reported missing by her grandmother to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department on June 28, which led to the discovery of the incident. The Naval Criminal Investigative Services (NCIS) is presently holding the Marine in custody to question him, and the inquiry is still ongoing.

Camp Pendleton’s discovery

Just over two weeks after her grandmother reported the young teen missing, military officers at Camp Pendleton found her. The girl’s grandmother claimed that although she had previously swiftly returned home during such situations, she had fled the house four days before it was reported that she was missing. Her details were added by the sheriff’s office to missing person databases, such as those maintained by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

the police and the investigation

An unnamed Marine from Combat Logistics Battalion 5, 1st Marine Logistics Group, was detained by NCIS on June 28 for questioning, according to Capt. Charles Palmer, the group’s director of communications strategy and operations. The Marine is still in his command’s custody, and no official charges have been brought against him.

According to the sheriff’s spokesperson, the San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force is aiding NCIS in their investigation. However, it is yet unknown how much the task force will be involved.

Authorities React and Provide Assistance

The teenage girl who had gone missing was reunited with her grandma after her recovery. The teen was interviewed by detectives from the sheriff’s office, and the family was offered services; however, the details of those services were not made public. The sheriff’s office is careful not to release any material that could be used to identify juvenile victims because it takes their protection and right to privacy seriously.

Continually Investigating

The Marine’s involvement and the teenager’s disappearance are being investigated under the direction of the Naval Criminal Investigative Services and the San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force. Due to the necessity to protect the integrity of the investigation, both agencies refuse to discuss specifics.

  1. you have better check the School teachers out. This is what the UNION is pushing onto our children. That seems alright for the Government.

  2. It would seem that they think this Marine is a pedophile (as do I); however, if he were gay and they and the child identified the same way, he would just be differently attracted. Maybe his attorney can find a woke defense for him. Someone at the Pentagon could perhaps give them a little guidance
