Former President Bill Clinton is set to be identified as “John Doe 36” in the upcoming release of court documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein case, according to ABC News.
The documents, stemming from a 2015 lawsuit filed by Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre, mention Clinton over 50 times.
The references are primarily related to Giuffre’s efforts to compel Clinton to testify against Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
The documents, expected to be unsealed in the new year, will reveal over 170 individuals associated with Epstein, including many accusers, alleged victims, and people connected to his sex-trafficking ring.
While Clinton’s name appears multiple times, there is no indication of his involvement in illegal activities, as reported by ABC.
The former president has consistently denied any wrongdoing and claimed no illicit connections with Epstein.
The court documents are anticipated to shed light on various aspects of Epstein’s network, implicating individuals who worked for him, were part of his inner circle, or allegedly participated in his crimes.
Notable figures like Prince Andrew are expected to be named in the documents, with details about his alleged involvement with Epstein and Giuffre.
Despite numerous allegations and accusations against Epstein and those associated with him, the court documents are not expected to directly implicate Clinton in any criminal activity.
The release is scheduled to begin on January 2, following a ruling by Manhattan federal Judge Loretta Preska to unseal the documents after the New Year’s Day holiday.
