Standing before grieving supporters at Turning Point USA headquarters, Erika Kirk made her first public remarks Friday since the shocking assassination of her husband, conservative firebrand Charlie Kirk. Her words were both raw with grief and fierce with resolve.

“To everyone listening tonight across America, the movement my husband built will not die,” she declared. “It won’t. I refuse to let that happen. No one will ever forget my husband’s name. And I will make sure of it.”

Kirk did not hold back when addressing the violence that ended her husband’s life during a campus Q&A at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

“They killed Charlie because he preached a message of patriotism, faith, and God’s merciful love,” she said, her voice firm. “But to those responsible—you have no idea what you’ve done. If you thought my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea what you have unleashed across this country.”

Her vow drew thunderous applause from the crowd, many of whom wore Turning Point USA shirts and carried flags in her husband’s honor.

Speaking beside the desk where Charlie hosted his popular podcast, Erika promised that his work will continue without pause. The group’s fall campus tour will go forward as planned. So will the annual “America Fest” in Phoenix this December. Even his podcast, she confirmed, will not be silenced.

“This mission is bigger than one man,” she said. “Charlie’s voice will remain, and his wisdom will endure.”

Erika also revealed she had spoken with President Donald Trump on Thursday, telling him she was determined to preserve Charlie’s grassroots vision. “Charlie loved the president, and the president loved him in return,” she said.

The widow painted an intimate portrait of her husband, recalling how he constantly asked how he could be a better father and husband. “Charlie loved life. He loved his family. He loved America. And now, for all eternity, he will stand at his Savior’s side, wearing the glorious crown of a martyr.”

Charlie Kirk co-founded Turning Point USA in 2012, building it into one of the most influential conservative youth organizations in the country. He met Erika in 2018, years after founding the group, and the two married soon after. Together, they had two young children.

Erika, a former Miss Arizona USA and NCAA athlete, has long blended faith and public life. She runs a Christian ministry called BIBLE365, hosts a weekly podcast, and launched a faith-based apparel company. She was also at Utah Valley University when the shots rang out Wednesday.

On social media in 2023, Erika remembered their very first date in New York City. “At the end, you paused, looked at me, and said, ‘I’m going to date you,’” she wrote. “Five years later, that moment still feels like destiny.”

As she closed her remarks Friday night, Erika Kirk looked skyward, her voice steady.

“I’ll make Turning Point USA the biggest thing this nation has ever seen,” she vowed. “I love you, baby. Rest in the arms of our Lord.”
