A late-night dispute between co-workers at a Texas Amazon fulfillment center turned deadly after a planned fight escalated into gunfire, leaving one worker dead and two men now facing murder charges.

The shooting happened just after 10 p.m. on January 10 at an Amazon fulfillment center in San Antonio, located near U.S. Highway 90 and Loop 1604, according to WOAI.

Investigators say two Amazon employees — Johnny Bermea II and another unidentified worker — had been locked in a long-running feud dating back to their high school years. The tension reportedly came to a head when the two agreed to fight during a scheduled work break.

Police say the unidentified employee secretly called in friends for backup. One of them, David Perez Morales Jr., allegedly stepped out of a vehicle at the scene and opened fire. Authorities say Morales then fled with the help of another man, Jamari McKillion, who is accused of driving the getaway car.

Bermea was struck during the shooting but survived and was listed in stable condition. Another Amazon employee, Katrael Delosier, was not as fortunate. He was fatally shot and pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators later tied McKillion — who worked at a different nearby Amazon facility — to the crime using surveillance video, cell phone records, and eyewitness accounts. That evidence also led police to identify Morales as the alleged shooter.

Both McKillion and Morales have since been charged with murder in connection with Delosier’s death.

The shooting adds to a troubling history of violent incidents at Amazon facilities across the country. In June 2022, a female Amazon worker was shot and killed inside a Mississippi warehouse, with the suspect later dying in a shootout with police in Tennessee. Later that same year, a dispute between two Amazon employees at a South Carolina facility ended with one worker allegedly killing the other.
