‘Baseball Bat’ Meteor EXPLODES Through Texas Woman’s Roof

A blazing fireball screaming across the Texas sky turned into a real-life nightmare Saturday — when a chunk of space rock punched straight through a woman’s home near Houston.

The chaos unfolded in seconds.

A massive meteor tore through the atmosphere at a jaw-dropping 35,000 mph, lighting up the sky over the Houston area before violently breaking apart. According to NASA, a roughly 3-foot fragment split off about 29 miles above Bammel, Texas — triggering a powerful pressure wave that rattled homes and sent shockwaves across the region.

Residents thought it was an explosion.

Terrified witnesses reported hearing thunderous “booms” and seeing a glowing green flash streak across the sky, followed by black smoke. Emergency crews were even dispatched to investigate what some feared was a blast — but found nothing on the ground.

That’s because the real danger was still falling.

Debris from the meteor scattered across neighborhoods stretching nearly 20 miles — from Willowbrook to Northgate Crossing. And in one case, it struck with frightening precision.

In Ponderosa Forest, a football-sized chunk tore through the roof of homeowner Sherrie James, blasting through her ceiling and into her home below.

Inside, she found a mysterious rock sitting near a gaping hole — with insulation and debris scattered around it.

Officials say there were no trees or construction nearby, making it almost certain the object came straight from space.

The American Meteor Society later confirmed more than 100 sightings tied to the same “fireball event,” while NASA backed up reports that fragments had reached the ground.

It’s the second shocking sky event in days.

Just last week, another meteor exploded over Ohio, unleashing a sonic boom that rattled residents as far away as New York — raising fresh concerns about how often these high-speed space rocks are slipping through Earth’s defenses.
