A 68-year-old woman was arrested after police say she lost her temper at a Utah water park and allegedly grabbed a child by the throat because he splashed water on her.
Marjorie C. Aliprandi is accused of attacking the young boy Saturday at Cowabunga Bay Water Park in Draper, Utah, according to the Draper Police Department.
The incident reportedly happened on the park’s Lazy River, where the child had been standing near a fountain along the side of the attraction.
According to an affidavit obtained by ABC 4, the boy splashed Aliprandi with water.
That allegedly set her off.
Police said Aliprandi became angry and put both hands around the child’s neck “in an attempt to get him to stop spraying her.”
The boy later told his mother what happened, and police were called to the water park.
When officers spoke with the child, they said he had red scratches on his neck. The boy also told authorities he felt pressure when Aliprandi grabbed him by the throat.
A lifeguard reportedly witnessed the confrontation and told police she saw Aliprandi get upset with the child before choking him after he sprayed her with water.
Aliprandi was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.
She is charged with one count of aggravated assault, a felony, and one count of child abuse, a misdemeanor.

Italian name… Mafia?
So the lifeguard saw this and did nothing didn’t even go to make sure he was ok. That seems messed up. People have just lost the ability to control themselves.
OMG really? You’re at a flippin’ WATER PARK. You would expect at some point, intentionally or not, you’re gonna get splashed. If you’re so worried about getting splashed at/on to the point you are going to get violent …. don’t go. For your own safety and the safely of others … don’t go. This is seriously a case of “overreacting much??”. Yikes. And don’t get me started on the lifeguard not doing his job – or even alerting another staff member – to see what’s happening, if the child is alright, etc.
Overall, I think the world has just lost it’s ever-freakin’ mind.
In all seriousness though, I hope the child is ok.
