Teen Girl Attacked by Stranger in Broad Daylight in Shocking Video

A terrifying attack in Michigan was caught on surveillance video after police say a complete stranger jumped out of an SUV and attacked a 14-year-old girl walking down the street in broad daylight.

The disturbing incident happened on May 12 in Kentwood, Michigan.

Surveillance footage released by Kentwood Police shows the teen walking along a sidewalk in a neighborhood when a dark-colored SUV suddenly pulls up nearby.

Moments later, police say the driver, identified as 29-year-old John Moore, jumps out of the vehicle and runs toward the girl.

The video reportedly shows Moore taking wild swings at the teen and trying to restrain her.

But the girl fought back.

Police said the teenager defended herself hard enough to make Moore bleed, forcing him to get back into his SUV and drive away.

Authorities say the attack appeared to be random. Moore did not know the girl, according to police.

But investigators say the frightening day did not end there.

About an hour and a half later, Moore allegedly returned to the same neighborhood and attacked a second victim: a 66-year-old woman who was outside doing yardwork.

Police said Moore did not know that victim either.

Moore was arrested within 24 hours of the attacks after detectives used witness information and surveillance video to identify him.

He was booked into the Kent County Correctional Facility on charges of assault and battery and unlawful imprisonment.

A judge set his bond at $140,000, and he had not posted bond, according to the report.

Thankfully, police said the victims were not seriously injured.

Still, the surveillance video has left many people shaken. What looked like an ordinary walk through a quiet neighborhood turned into a nightmare when a stranger allegedly pulled up, jumped out, and launched a broad-daylight attack.

For the 14-year-old girl, quick thinking and fighting back may have saved her from something far worse.
