A Wisconsin wedding reception reportedly spiraled into chaos after a fight over meatballs ended with two people shot and a groomsman on the run, prosecutors say.
The bizarre incident happened June 20 at the Aria Business Center in Milwaukee, where what should have been a joyful celebration turned into a crime scene.
Police are now searching for 41-year-old Thomas Redrick Williams, who is accused of shooting and injuring two people during the reception before fleeing.
Williams is wanted on suspicion of reckless injury with use of a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon and bail jumping, according to reports.
Officers arrived at the Milwaukee venue and found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds.
According to a criminal complaint, the confrontation began in the kitchen when the bride’s cousin allegedly saw Williams eating meatballs with his hands. She reportedly told him he should use a plate and silverware instead.
What started as a comment about bad table manners quickly turned violent, prosecutors allege.
The woman told police Williams punched her after she confronted him. Her brother-in-law then stepped in as the argument became physical.
Prosecutors say Williams pulled out a gun and opened fire.
The woman was shot in the arm and leg. The man was shot in the back of the neck. Both were taken to a nearby hospital and survived.
The bride allegedly witnessed the shooting and followed Williams outside as he tried to leave. Prosecutors say she confronted him near his car and grabbed his key fob in an attempt to stop him from driving away.
Williams then allegedly abandoned the car and ran from the scene on foot.
Police searched the vehicle, which was registered to Williams’ wife, and said they found a Taurus 9mm handgun inside.
Williams’ wife later told officers that she and her husband had attended the wedding together. She said he dropped her off at home before returning to the reception with her car.
Authorities said Williams was already out on bond in a separate case when the wedding shooting happened. A warrant has since been issued for his arrest.
As of Monday, jail records showed he had not been taken into custody.

Footage from local station WISN 12 News showed the bride visibly distressed outside the venue after the shooting. Neighbors were also stunned that a wedding celebration had ended in gunfire.
“For a wedding to be shot up like that is ridiculous,” local resident Robert told WISN 12 News. “A wedding day is supposed to be something that two people have to care and love each other, and for someone to disrupt that is disrupting a family.”

During the training session there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman Catholic, Protestant and Muslim faiths, who each explained their beliefs. I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say. The Muslim gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam, complete with a video. After the presentations, time was provided for questions and answers. When it was my turn, I directed my question to the Muslim and asked: \’Please, correct me if I\’m wrong, but I understand that most Imams and clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the infidels of the world and, that by killing an infidel, (which is a command to all Muslims) they are assured of a place in heaven. If that\’s the case, can you give me the definition of an infidel?\’ There was no disagreement with my statements and, without hesitation, he replied, \” Nonbelievers\” I responded, \’So, let me make sure I have this straight. All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so they can have a place in heaven. Is that correct?\’ The expression on his face changed from one of authority and command to that of a little boy who had just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.\’ He sheepishly replied, \’Yes.\’ I then stated, \’Well, sir, I have a real problem trying to imagine The Pope commanding all Catholics to kill those of your faith or Dr. Stanley ordering all Protestants to do the same in order to guarantee them a place in heaven!\’ The Muslim was speechless. I continued, \’I also have a problem with being your friend when you and your brother clerics are telling your followers to kill me! Let me ask you a question: Would you rather have your Allah, who tells you to kill me in order for you to go to heaven, or my Jesus who tells me to love you because I am going to heaven and He wants you to be there with me?\’ You could have heard a pin drop. Needless to say, the organizers and/or promoters of the \’Diversification\’ training seminar were not happy with my way of dealing with the Islamic Imam, and exposing the truth about the Muslims\’ beliefs. In twenty years there will be enough Muslim voters in the US. to elect the President. I think everyone in the U.S. should be required to read this, but with the ACLU, there is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on!
