Famed radio host Elvis Duran of Z100 found himself in a terrifying situation on Monday when a woman attempted to attack him on a New York City street.

Speaking on his morning show on Tuesday, Duran recounted the experience, which happened while he was turning onto 14th St. at 6th Ave.

According to Duran, the woman approached him and attempted to strike him with a sharp object, but he was able to defend himself by putting his arm up.

Unfortunately, the woman then turned her attention to the person behind him and attacked them instead. Duran said that the incident happened so quickly and the attacker disappeared just as fast.

The incident left Duran shaken and reminded him of how fragile life can be.

Speaking on his show, Duran addressed the issue of mental illness and acknowledged that it may have been a factor in the woman’s behavior. However, he emphasized that mental illness doesn’t excuse harmful behavior.

Duran’s experience is a reminder of the potential dangers that can be faced on the streets of New York City, but it’s also a testament to his resilience and love for the city.

Despite the attack, he stated that he will continue to walk around Manhattan and that he has lost no love for the Big Apple.

This incident serves as a cautionary tale for all of us to remain aware of our surroundings and to take measures to protect ourselves when necessary.

It’s also a reminder to treat those who may be struggling with mental illness with compassion and understanding, but also to hold them accountable for their actions.

We wish Elvis Duran and the other victim a speedy recovery and hope that the perpetrator is brought to justice.
