Rupert Murdoch and his son Lachlan, both key figures in the Fox News empire, reportedly spoke to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the months before the network fired Tucker Carlson, one of Zelensky’s biggest critics on the channel. News of these calls has stirred controversy, with some conservatives alleging that Carlson was fired because he knew too much about the war in Ukraine.
According to reports, Rupert Murdoch held an “unreported” call with Zelensky earlier this spring during which they discussed Ukraine’s conflict with Russia, as well as the March 2022 deaths of Fox News journalists Pierre Zakrzewski and Oleksandra Kuvshynova in Ukraine. Lachlan Murdoch also reportedly held his own call with Zelensky on March 15.
While Zelensky did not reportedly mention Carlson during the calls, the controversial Fox News host was fired just days after the network agreed to pay $787.5 million to Dominion Voting Systems over election lies made on the channel. Carlson had regularly used his show to attack Zelensky and the White House for providing aid to Ukraine to fight against Vladimir Putin.
Conservative activists have been quick to suggest that Carlson was fired because he knew too much about the situation in Ukraine. Lauren Witzke, a conservative activist, tweeted that “Tucker Carlson was fired because he knew the truth about the war in Ukraine.” Meanwhile, Brigitte Gabriel, the founder of ACT for America, stated that “Fox News is fake news.”
Murdoch reportedly grew tired of Carlson’s on-air antics and was disturbed by his pro-Kremlin stance on Ukraine. Carlson has frequently appeared on Russian state-controlled television, adding to his controversial image.
It remains to be seen how this new information will impact Fox News and its coverage of Ukraine and Russia moving forward. However, it is clear that Carlson’s firing has stirred controversy and raised questions about the influence of media executives like Rupert Murdoch on the content and coverage of news outlets.

I honestly doubt that the same moron that broadcasted that the attack we ALL saw on January 6th at the Capital building was just rowdy tourists gone wild would have any relevant true information about the war in Ukraine.
Was Tucker pro Russia and Putin? YES Indeed he was. Was this because of Russian blackmail or payments? Possibly. This seems like a more likely reality that Tucker been privy to any real facts.
Tucker Carlson have been “suggesting” and “speculating” on bogus crap ever since he arrived to Fox and apparently also engaging in abusive and inappropriate behavior and language with his female team members. He got fired and this has happened to much better people in media
