In a surprising turn of events, Mark Fisher, co-founder of Black Lives Matter Rhode Island, has thrown his support behind former President Donald Trump in the 2024 race for the White House. Fisher’s endorsement comes with a scathing critique of the Democratic Party, accusing them of implementing racist policies that negatively impact the black community.

Fisher expressed his views on various platforms, including a notable appearance on “Fox & Friends,” where he discussed the reasons behind some black voters considering a departure from the Democratic Party. According to Fisher, the Democrats’ duplicity and hypocrisy have become apparent, leading to a loss of trust among black voters.

“The brothers are not stupid. We understand when someone’s for us and when someone is not, and it’s obvious that the Democratic Party is not for us,” Fisher asserted during the interview with Lawrence Jones.

A key element of Fisher’s criticism revolves around what he perceives as policies that undermine the black family and the nuclear family, arguing that these policies strike at the heart of the community. Fisher went further to state that the Democratic Party “doesn’t value” the black vote and characterized their policies as fundamentally racist.

In a separate interview with “The Kim Iversen Show,” Fisher commended Donald Trump for advocating policies aimed at uplifting the black community. He asserted that Trump, in contrast to the Democrats, is straightforward and has done more for the black community than any president in recent memory.

Fisher’s endorsement aligns with a broader trend highlighted by a New York Times/Siena College poll, indicating a notable increase in support for Trump among black voters in battleground states won by President Biden in 2020. The poll revealed a shift from 8 percent support in 2020 to 22 percent in states like Nevada, Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

However, Fisher acknowledged that some black voters may still be voting Democratic due to misinformation and a lack of understanding of Trump’s policies and their impact on the black community. He emphasized the need for education and informed leaders to convey the positive aspects of Trump’s tenure.

Despite his political shift, Fisher affirmed his continued affiliation with Black Lives Matter and emphasized a message of unity. He expressed a desire to bring together marginalized groups, advocating for unity as “one nation under God, indivisible.”

Fisher’s endorsement and critique of the Democratic Party highlight the complexities within the political landscape and the evolving perspectives within the Black Lives Matter movement. As the 2024 presidential election approaches, Fisher’s voice adds an unexpected dimension to the ongoing political discourse surrounding race, party loyalty, and policy impact on marginalized communities.

  1. Could it be that this leader of the Bow L Movement is afraid of what Trump will do when he Regains the White House, so he is covering his ass?

  2. What can we say…..maybe some black people deserved to be shot.
The only way blacks will stop getting shot so frequently is to obey the officer’s instructions when they are stopped by police. The only way black people will progress up from the bottom of the economic pyramid is to embrace education and proper English. Trump is very unlikely to help black people…or anybody else for what it matters.
I suspect this guy was bought….
