‘Mad Men’ and ‘Entourage’ star dead at 60

The entertainment industry mourns the loss of veteran actor Eddie Driscoll, known for his memorable roles in popular TV shows and films, who passed away at the age of 60 after battling stomach cancer. Driscoll, whose career spanned decades, left an indelible mark on both stage and screen.

Renowned for his performances in acclaimed series such as “Mad Men,” “Entourage,” “This Is Us,” and “Sex and the City,” Driscoll’s versatility and talent endeared him to audiences worldwide. His colleague, actor Jimmy Palumbo, confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter that Driscoll succumbed to a saddle pulmonary embolism on December 15 in Los Angeles.

A saddle pulmonary embolism, a severe condition characterized by a large blood clot obstructing blood flow to both lungs, tragically claimed Driscoll’s life, cutting short a career marked by passion and dedication to his craft.

Born in New York in 1963, Driscoll’s journey into acting began with formal training at the University of Miami and the Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre in North Palm Beach, Florida, where he honed his skills under the tutelage of industry luminaries like Reynolds and Carol Burnett.

Driscoll’s talent transcended television, gracing the stage in productions such as “Jersey Boys,” where he portrayed the role of Angelo “Gyp” DeCarlo during the show’s West Coast tour. Additionally, his filmography includes notable appearances in movies like “Lansky,” “Boat Trip,” “Pavement,” and “Cellular.”

Throughout his career, Driscoll also made significant contributions to the entertainment industry as the host of Dimples, a beloved bar in Burbank, California, for over two decades.

Amid the outpouring of grief from colleagues and fans, a celebration of Driscoll’s life took place at the Fox Fire Room in January, where friends and loved ones gathered to honor his memory.
