In a recent speech to graduates at Morehouse College, Joe Biden served up a heaping platter of divisive rhetoric, dishing out three of the most pernicious lies about American life. Let’s break them down, shall we?

First up: the myth that black Americans have to be superhuman to succeed in this country. Sure, America isn’t perfect, but let’s get real. Companies and institutions are bending over backward to diversify, and Morehouse graduates are landing top jobs left and right. The stats speak for themselves: 83 percent employed or continuing education, with starting salaries that put the national average to shame. If black Americans formed their own nation, they’d be living large, folks.

Next on the chopping block: the insinuation that the state is out to get black lives. Biden’s fearmongering has got folks convinced that cops are on a hunting spree, gunning down unarmed black men left and right. But the reality? Less than a hundred black men, armed and unarmed, are killed by police each year. And in the rare cases where there’s a shooting, it’s almost always justified. The left’s narrative of a nation at war with black men is pure fiction.

Last but not least: the voter suppression boogeyman. Democrats have folks believing that the GOP is hell-bent on stopping black Americans from voting. But let’s face it, voting has never been easier. Yet millions buy into the lie, thinking they’re being oppressed when they face the slightest inconvenience at the polls.

Sending young people out into the world with these lies is downright irresponsible. It’s a ploy to keep nonwhite Americans loyal to one party, even if the facts don’t add up. So next time Biden tries to sell you on his scare tactics, remember: the truth will set you free. And it’s about time we started demanding it.
