Once again, the Democratic mayor of Dolton, Illinois, Tiffany Henyard, is making headlines—and not in a good way. You may remember Henyard for her lavish spending habits and chaotic public meetings, but now it seems she’s facing an even more personal crisis. According to a local report from FOX32 Chicago, Henyard and her boyfriend, Kamal Woods, are being evicted from their home. That’s right—evicted. The so-called “supermayor” can’t seem to pay her rent, racking up over $3,300 in unpaid dues for a house they’ve been renting on the 14600 block of South Harvard for the past three years.
Now, when a mayor—especially one who prides herself on being a “supermayor”—is being kicked out of her own house, you’d think there’s got to be more to the story, right? Well, buckle up, because there sure is.
Eviction Notice Filed, But Henyard Denies It
Despite the mounting evidence, Henyard is playing the denial game. FOX32 Chicago got their hands on the eviction notice filed in Cook County Court, but Henyard’s attorney quickly tried to squash the story, calling it “false” and claiming the couple hasn’t missed a rent payment. Well, if that’s the case, why refuse an inspection of the property? If you’ve got nothing to hide, open the doors and let them in.
But this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Henyard’s scandals.
Chaos, Police Raids, and Wild Spending Sprees
Let’s not forget that this is the same Tiffany Henyard who has been embroiled in controversy after controversy, most of them centered around her apparent love for spending other people’s money. The taxpayers’ money, to be exact. Henyard has become a household name for anyone following Illinois politics, especially after her notorious public meltdowns and reckless financial decisions.
Back in April, her town hall meeting was such a circus that police had to shut it down to prevent a full-scale brawl from breaking out. In June, the scene repeated itself when police had to step in to break up a near-violent confrontation between Henyard’s supporters and opponents. And just last week, Henyard was at it again, going head-to-head with trustees in Thornton Township, where she also serves as Township Supervisor, who dared to question her “lavish” spending habits. Henyard, in typical fashion, dismissed the concerns, accusing the board of being driven by “hate, jealousy, and envy.” Sure, it’s never about accountability—it’s always someone else’s fault.
A Supermayor for Super Spending?
This isn’t just about rent or chaotic meetings. Henyard has a long history of treating public funds like her personal piggy bank. Lori Lightfoot, the former Chicago mayor, launched an investigation into Henyard’s spending habits, uncovering some alarming figures. The Dolton general fund was sitting comfortably at $5.61 million in 2022. But by May 2024, thanks to Henyard’s “supermayor” leadership, that balance was in the red by $3.65 million.
One of the more eye-popping discoveries was Henyard’s use of the village credit card for personal shopping sprees at Amazon, Target, Walgreens, Wayfair—you name it. And on January 5, 2023, she somehow managed to spend a staggering $33,000 on Amazon alone. For what? Glittering streets in gold? It’s anyone’s guess.
If you think that’s the worst of it, think again. Just last month, Henyard thought it would be a brilliant idea to throw an $85,000 party featuring R&B singer Keke Wyatt and rapper J. Holiday.
No Accountability, Just Excuses
What we’re seeing in Dolton is a prime example of the utter lack of accountability that seems to define the modern Democratic Party. While taxpayers struggle to make ends meet, Tiffany Henyard is living the high life, throwing lavish parties and draining the town’s resources. When confronted, she doesn’t take responsibility—instead, she points the finger at “haters” and critics.
The people of Dolton deserve better than a mayor who can’t even pay her rent, let alone manage public funds responsibly. They deserve a leader who puts their needs first, not one who prioritizes shopping sprees and celebrity parties.
It’s time for Henyard to face the music. The residents of Dolton are tired of excuses. Let’s hope the eviction notice is just the beginning of her accountability tour.
After all, how can someone who can’t manage their own household finances be trusted to manage an entire town?
