A former girlfriend of Jeffrey Epstein has come forward with explosive claims that threaten to unravel President Donald Trump’s long-maintained distance from the disgraced financier—and reignite questions about their past connection.
Stacey Williams, a former model who says she briefly dated Epstein in the early ‘90s, told CNN in a Friday night interview that Epstein “only ever talked about Trump.”
“They were best friends. That was his bro, that was his wingman,” Williams said bluntly. “He’d bring up Donald every time we were together.”
Her comments directly contradict President Trump’s repeated assertions that he “barely knew” Epstein and had cut ties with him long before Epstein’s arrest.
Williams, now 57, claims she first met Epstein at a Christmas party Trump hosted at New York’s Plaza Hotel in 1992. “Jeffrey said they went way back,” she recalled. “They were always up to no good.”
Williams also previously alleged that Trump groped her at a modeling event in 1993, a claim originally reported by The Guardian. She did not press charges at the time.
President Trump, who returned to the White House in January 2025 after defeating Joe Biden in a bitter election, has doubled down on denying any misconduct related to Epstein. Earlier this month, he filed a $10 billion defamation lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal over claims that he sent Epstein a graphic letter and a drawing of a naked woman.
In a Truth Social post, Trump blasted the story as “fake news trash” and “part of the sick hoax trying to smear your favorite president.”
But inside MAGA circles, the frustration is growing.
Attorney General Pam Bondi—who stirred excitement earlier this year when she claimed the Epstein “client list” was “sitting on my desk right now”—is facing backlash from Trump’s base after the Justice Department admitted no such list exists.
“We were promised truth,” said Florida radio host Mike Davison, a pro-Trump commentator. “Instead we got redacted documents and silence.”
Bondi tried to ease tensions on Friday by filing a request in federal court to unseal Epstein-related grand jury transcripts, citing “public interest and national integrity.”
But for many Trump loyalists, it’s too little, too late.
Fueling the fire, billionaire Elon Musk tweeted a sarcastic jab at Trump and the DOJ’s narrative on July 16:
“Wow, amazing that Epstein ‘killed himself’ and Ghislaine is in federal prison for a hoax.”
Musk, who was dubbed the “First Buddy” after his frequent visits to the White House earlier this year, has since distanced himself from Trump, hinting at internal rifts over transparency.
Jeffrey Epstein died in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019, officially ruled a suicide. He was awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges involving minors. His longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence in a Florida federal prison. Her legal team is reportedly preparing an appeal.
Trump’s critics argue that his administration has failed to live up to promises of full disclosure.
“What happened to draining the swamp?” asked Rep. Jason Luxton (D-OR), a frequent Trump critic. “This looks more like selective secrecy.”
Whether Williams’ testimony leads to new investigations remains unclear. But her claims are already echoing across the political spectrum—and could spell trouble for a president who built part of his campaign on exposing the very swamp he now stands accused of protecting.
“Trump said we’d get the Epstein truth,” said conservative commentator Sarah Halliday. “Instead we got silence, redactions, and lawsuits. Something doesn’t add up.”
For now, the questions remain—and so does the suspicion.
