Dershowitz Drops Bombshell: Epstein ‘Had Help’ Ending His Life—And It Came From Inside the Jail

Famed attorney Alan Dershowitz, once a staunch defender of Jeffrey Epstein, is now pointing fingers—straight at the prison staff who were supposed to keep Epstein alive.

In a stunning interview with Real America’s Voice, Dershowitz said what many have long suspected: Epstein didn’t act alone.

“He killed himself,” Dershowitz said, pausing for effect, “with help from jailers.”

The explosive claim re-ignites suspicions around Epstein’s mysterious death at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York back in 2019. Though the official ruling remains suicide, unanswered questions have haunted the case—malfunctioning security cameras, guards who didn’t check on him, and a cellmate who was mysteriously removed hours before Epstein was found hanging.

Now, in 2025, as President Donald Trump faces pressure from his own base to release everything on Epstein, Dershowitz’s latest comments have landed like a political grenade.

The former Harvard Law professor—who famously defended Trump during his first impeachment and helped secure Epstein’s controversial 2008 plea deal—suggests that incompetence, or something darker, may have played a role in the disgraced financier’s death.

“I don’t think he could have done it by himself,” he told host Eric Bolling. “He was in a cell under 24/7 watch. If he managed to kill himself, it was because someone let him.”

Dershowitz doubled down in a Wall Street Journal op-ed, writing that the circumstances suggest “he likely received assistance from prison personnel—whether intentional or through gross negligence.”

Dershowitz’s remarks come at a politically tense moment. Many Trump supporters, convinced Epstein was silenced to protect elites, have turned their anger toward Trump himself for not declassifying more documents or exposing Epstein’s alleged “client list.”

The Trump administration’s recent report concluded—just like before—that Epstein died by suicide and no list of high-profile associates exists.

That answer hasn’t satisfied the base.

“The deep state’s still covering it up,” one Trump supporter wrote on Truth Social. “We voted for Trump to drain this swamp. Release the files!”

Dershowitz has tried to distance both himself and Trump from Epstein—despite both men’s long-standing ties to him. Trump and Epstein were photographed together numerous times between 1990 and 2005, and once partied together at Mar-a-Lago.

Dershowitz, meanwhile, helped Epstein escape federal charges in 2008. The so-called “sweetheart deal” let Epstein serve just 13 months in county jail—with work release.

The deal was negotiated by then-prosecutor Alex Acosta, whom Trump later appointed as Secretary of Labor. Acosta resigned in 2019 after Epstein was arrested again—this time on federal sex trafficking charges.

Epstein’s death in federal custody sparked years of speculation. Even now, critical facts remain murky:

• Why were guards asleep or absent during critical checks?
• Why did the cameras fail—only outside Epstein’s cell?
• Why was his cellmate reassigned hours before his death?

To this day, no one has been criminally charged in connection to Epstein’s death. And while some staffers faced internal discipline, the Justice Department has not reopened the case under Trump’s current administration.

Dershowitz’s new theory—combining suicide with assisted negligence—adds a new twist to the narrative.

As Trump heads into the thick of the 2025 election cycle, calls to “release the Epstein files” have only grown louder.

But with Epstein dead and the evidence vanishing fast, the real truth may be buried right along with him.
