Conservative firebrand Candace Owens has ignited fresh controversy by suggesting a shadowy cover-up in the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.

Owens, speaking on her podcast this week, alleged that nearly every key official connected to the case — from investigators to the hospital staff — had only just been hired when Kirk was shot dead during a Utah campus event last month.

“It was kind of everybody’s first day on the job,” Owens declared. “Nine-ten was everybody’s first day. Almost all of them were recent hires in Utah who suddenly had to deal with this case. That’s not a coincidence.”

Owens directly tied the strange personnel shuffle to Kash Patel, who now serves as FBI Director under President Trump. She claimed Patel “cleaned house” at the Utah state bureau just weeks before Kirk’s murder.

“He installs Robert Bowles — a longtime D.C. guy. And Bowles’ very first case? The assassination of Charlie Kirk. Why move your whole family to Utah from Virginia just for that? Doesn’t make sense,” she said.

Patel has not publicly responded to Owens’ latest remarks, though Trump allies have repeatedly praised him for “rooting out deep state corruption.”

Owens also cast suspicion on the medical response. She noted Kirk was rushed to a regional hospital that was neither the nearest nor the most qualified to handle such a traumatic neck wound.

“There was a brand-new CEO and a brand-new lead surgeon, Andrew Zenger,” Owens alleged. “Why wasn’t Charlie taken to the best-equipped hospital? That’s what people should be asking. I’d like to know if that new CEO and surgeon personally worked on Charlie.”

The hospital has not released a public statement addressing her claims.

Owens further argued that the chain of “suspiciously new” officials extended to the courtroom. She pointed out that the judge overseeing accused gunman Tyler Robinson’s trial was only appointed this year.

“He was just confirmed in May by Governor Spencer Cox,” she said. “And even the coroner on this case? I’m told that person is brand spanking new. Name hasn’t been released yet, but it’s another ‘coincidence.’”

Kirk, 31, was gunned down on September 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University as part of his Turning Point USA fall tour. He was shot in the neck about twenty minutes into his speech before a packed auditorium of students and supporters.

Despite being rushed from the scene, Kirk was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the hospital.

Tyler Robinson, 24, was arrested three days later and charged with aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious injury, and obstruction of justice. Prosecutors say the evidence against him is “substantial.” He appeared in court on September 29 for his second hearing.

The assassination of Kirk, one of the most influential voices of America’s conservative youth movement, has shaken the political landscape. President Trump called the killing “an act of pure evil” and vowed federal investigators would “leave no stone unturned.”

But Owens is not convinced the official story adds up. “Too many new faces, too many unanswered questions,” she said. “The American people deserve to know the truth about what really happened to Charlie Kirk.”

  1. I’m afraid the end product will be another JFK-type cover up, using a patsy. There’s too much evidence of it already.
