A fun night at a popular fair turned into a nightmare in seconds after a high-speed ride malfunctioned mid-air—and the entire terrifying moment was caught on camera.

The incident happened during the famous Feria de Abril in Seville, where crowds had gathered to celebrate with music, food, and rides. But things took a horrifying turn on a slingshot-style attraction known as “Steel Max.”

In footage filmed by people on the ground, the ride launches passengers high into the air, strapped into seats as expected. But just moments later, disaster strikes.

As the ride begins swinging in a circular motion, the cable suddenly snaps.

The seats come crashing down at high speed, sending shockwaves through the crowd. Onlookers can be heard screaming in panic, with some shouting “Oh my God” as the accident unfolds.

Another clip shows the aftermath, with riders lying on the ground near the attraction as they wait for emergency crews to arrive.

Officials say four people were injured in the incident, including two children. Thankfully, the injuries were reported as minor, but the situation could have been far worse.

In a chilling detail, local reports say two children were briefly left suspended in the air when the cable snapped, adding to the chaos and fear.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene, and firefighters quickly shut down and secured the ride area. Authorities have since launched an investigation to determine exactly what caused the malfunction.

The shocking incident has rattled what is usually a joyful celebration, as thousands gather each year for the Feria de Abril festivities.

It also comes amid ongoing concerns about amusement ride safety worldwide, following other recent incidents involving serious injuries.
