A New Hampshire man has been arrested after a woman’s mother tracked her to an Olive Garden and asked police to check on her, leading to disturbing allegations of threats, forced marriage and a bizarre ritual, according to reports.

Police in Newington responded to the restaurant Saturday after the woman’s mother became worried and traced her daughter’s phone to the location, Boston.com reported.

When officers arrived, the woman reportedly ran out of the restaurant crying. According to an affidavit obtained by the outlet, she had cigarette burns on her legs.

Police arrested 47-year-old Daniel Ouellet at the scene.

Ouellet allegedly told officers he was simply having dinner with his “wife” and claimed she was upset because her mother had tried to force her into a religious cult in Pennsylvania, according to court documents.

But the woman told police a very different story.

She allegedly said Ouellet contacted her about a week earlier and threatened to hurt her family if she did not meet him in New England.

After she arrived, Ouellet, who was allegedly carrying a handgun, told her they were going to a town hall to get married or he would “make her pay,” according to the report.

Police said Ouellet allegedly kept the woman’s phone for several days and forced her to drive around at gunpoint while claiming “religious cults” were following them.

The woman also alleged that Ouellet cut her hand with a box cutter as part of a satanic ritual. Police later found a copy of the Satanic Bible in his car, according to the affidavit.

It is not immediately clear how Ouellet and the woman knew each other.

Ouellet has been charged with using a deadly weapon to prevent someone from reporting a crime. Newington Police Chief Michael Bilodeau said he is also facing additional charges in Lee, where the alleged forced marriage took place.

Ouellet, who reportedly has a history of DWI and domestic violence charges, denied the allegations in court, according to WJCL.

“If you talk to anybody that knows me, I’m not a physical man,” he said. “I’m very pristine and, you know, forcing her into marriage, that’s completely against my religious belief.”

“I totally believe in free will, and I have never been aggressive with her in ways that were described on that paper,” he added.

Ouellet was ordered held on preventative detention, and the woman was granted an order of protection.
