Wendy’s Workers Arrested After Pulling Food from Trash, Spitting on It and Serving It to Customer

Three Wendy’s employees in South Carolina have been arrested after police say they allegedly took a customer’s food from the trash, spit on it and served it back to her as a remade order.

The disturbing incident happened at a Wendy’s on North Duncan Bypass in Union, according to Fox Carolina.

The employees were identified by the Union Public Safety Department as 23-year-old Aaliyah Shuntai Sanders, 19-year-old Trinity Lashell Rice and 33-year-old Shadela Crystal Holley.

All three women were charged with tampering with a human drug product or food item, according to the report.

Police records show the arrests happened separately over several days. Rice was arrested on June 16, Sanders was arrested on June 17 and Holley was arrested on June 22. A judge reportedly set Rice’s bond at $2,000 surety.

The case began on May 31, when a customer went through the Wendy’s drive-thru and later had an issue with her food. According to incident reports, the customer told staff about the problem and asked for a refund after employees took the order back.

The customer also said she asked for a receipt because she had not been given one when she first placed the order.

Instead of a refund, staff members allegedly told her they would remake the meal. The customer was then given food and left the restaurant.

But while she was driving away and eating the food, someone from the Wendy’s reportedly called her with a horrifying warning.

The caller allegedly told the customer that an employee had spit in the food and that it had been taken out of the trash can.

According to the report, the customer checked the food and realized the so-called remade order appeared to be the same food she had originally returned.

The customer then called the store and spoke with a manager, who allegedly told her he had spoken with employees and confirmed what happened. The manager also reportedly said he would review surveillance footage.

The general manager and another manager later told the customer that Sanders, Rice and Holley had been written up over the incident, according to the report.
