Woman Dies During Chaotic Brawl at Golden Corral

A woman has died after suffering a medical emergency during a chaotic altercation at a Golden Corral restaurant in North Carolina, authorities said.

Fayetteville police rushed to the Golden Corral at 1806 Skibo Road at around 2:30 p.m. Thursday after receiving reports of a physical disturbance and possible gunfire.

When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive woman inside the restaurant.

Police immediately began lifesaving efforts before the woman was rushed to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Investigators said preliminary information indicates that a physical altercation involving several people broke out inside the busy buffet restaurant shortly before the woman became unresponsive.

Despite the initial call reporting shots fired, authorities said investigators have not yet confirmed that any gunfire actually occurred.

Police have not released the woman’s identity or said what role, if any, she had in the altercation.

It also remains unclear whether she suffered any injuries during the confrontation or whether an underlying medical condition contributed to her death.

Detectives are now working to piece together exactly what happened in the moments leading up to the woman’s medical emergency.

The Fayetteville Police Department is also working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine her official cause and manner of death.

The Golden Corral restaurant and its parking lot remained closed while officers investigated the scene.

Authorities have not announced any arrests or identified any suspects in connection with the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
