Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have faced criticism over the amount of time they spend on their charity work after tax documents revealed that they only documented one hour of work per week for their Archewell Foundation in 2021.
Despite raising over $13 million in donations, with $10 million coming from a single private donor, the tax filings showed that the couple had paid out $163,085 in salaries and accrued $1,190 in investment income.
The foundation dispersed over $3 million in grants to various refugee resettlement charities and initiatives distributing millions of COVID-19 vaccines.
However, representatives for the Archewell Foundation have said that these reports do not paint a full picture of the work being done by the charity.
They pointed out that Archewell has a broader scope of work than is documented in the tax filings and that the foundation is committed to uplifting and uniting communities, both local and global, through one act of compassion at a time.
Despite their charitable work, Markle and Harry are also involved in several paid endeavors, including Markle’s podcast “Archetypes,” for which she reportedly received $15 to $18 million in a deal with Spotify.
The couple also closed a deal with Netflix, which reportedly paid them an estimated $100 million. Additionally, Markle is rumored to be in the process of resurrecting her pre-Harry lifestyle blog, the Tig.
While the couple may be criticized for their lack of time spent on their charitable work, it’s important to note that they are using their public platform to promote important causes and are bringing attention and funds to organizations that are making a positive impact in their respective fields.
However, it remains to be seen if the couple can balance their lucrative business ventures with their commitment to their charitable work.
As the Archewell Foundation continues to grow and evolve, we will hopefully see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex taking a more active role in their foundation and working towards their goal of making a positive impact on the world.

These two are absolutely not an asset to society other than just taking up resources. There are people in this world that are far better representatives fir doing good things and helping humanity.
STOP enabling these two adult children and their bad behavior. There are reasons why they are not accepted by the royal family, and rightfully so!
I fail to see the problem with any of this and I made a living reading financial statements. Why is this news? This isn’t even good entertainment.
