After a closed-door meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko was swiftly transported to a Moscow hospital in critical condition.

Lukashenko’s hospitalization comes amidst speculations regarding the Kremlin’s alleged involvement in his poisoning.

The Belarusian opposition figure, Valery Tsepkalo, took to Twitter to reveal that Lukashenko’s condition was deemed non-transportable after blood purification procedures were conducted, implying a serious health crisis.

Lukashenko himself addressed his absence from public life on May 23, attributing it to an illness. While he did not disclose the exact nature of his ailment, he mentioned an adenovirus and dismissed it as a minor issue.

Adenoviruses can cause a range of health problems in humans, from acute respiratory infections to severe conditions in individuals with weakened immune systems.

The Belarusian president had recently attended the parade in Moscow on May 9 but was unable to participate in the flower-laying ceremony alongside Putin and other leaders.

Observers noticed a bandage on his hand, and upon his return from Moscow, Lukashenko unexpectedly refrained from delivering his customary speech at Victory Square in Minsk.

Konstantin Zatulin, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, later stated that Lukashenko simply fell ill, shedding little light on the specifics of his condition.

Pavel Latyshko, another source, suggested that the dictator might be suffering from infectious-allergic myocarditis.

The sudden hospitalization of Lukashenko raises questions and speculation about his health and the political implications of his absence from public life.
