Here’s the question Americans should be asking themselves right now: Why is the Biden-Harris administration more focused on cozying up with anti-gun groups than actually prosecuting criminals? It’s becoming clearer every day that this White House, instead of responding to serious congressional inquiries with transparency, is stonewalling investigations and potentially colluding with gun control activists to undermine the Second Amendment.
Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, has been digging into this issue, and what he’s found should concern every American who values their constitutional rights. Comer’s committee is investigating the communications between the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention and Everytown for Gun Safety—a group founded by billionaire Michael Bloomberg that has never met a gun control measure it didn’t like. They’re particularly interested in a lawsuit filed by the city of Chicago against Glock, one of the world’s most popular firearms manufacturers.
Let’s not mince words here. This isn’t about public safety. This is about politics. In September 2023, the White House proudly announced the creation of the Office of Gun Violence Prevention, overseen by none other than Vice President Kamala Harris—who, let’s be honest, has made her anti-Second Amendment stance clear time and time again. They even brought in Stefanie Feldman, a long-time Biden aide, to run the show. But when Comer’s committee started asking questions, the White House clammed up. They refused to comply with requests for information, raising serious questions about what they’re hiding.
“The White House’s Office of Gun Violence Prevention, overseen by Vice President Harris, is stonewalling the Oversight Committee’s investigation into potential collusion by White House officials with anti-Second Amendment groups despite our multiple requests,” Comer told Fox News Digital. It doesn’t get much clearer than that, folks. The Biden administration is shutting down any attempt to get to the truth.
Comer first wrote to ATF Director Steven Dettelbach and Feldman in June, asking about the White House’s contacts with Everytown for Gun Safety, which has been providing legal support to Chicago in its lawsuit against Glock. This isn’t just about a lawsuit—it’s about a broader effort to undermine gun rights by blaming gun manufacturers for crimes committed with their products, a tactic that could have disastrous implications for gun owners and manufacturers across the country.
And get this: Comer’s committee found that the ATF had used encrypted apps and text messages to communicate with the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention. Encrypted apps? For official government business? What are they hiding? Comer is demanding answers, but so far, the Biden administration has refused to turn over the requested documents.
Meanwhile, Chicago is suing Glock in an attempt to restrict alterations that can happen after their guns are sold, like converting a semi-automatic pistol into a fully automatic weapon with a device called an auto sear. This, of course, is already illegal, but the city’s lawsuit contends that Glock is somehow responsible for these modifications. It’s a blatant attempt to shift the blame from the criminals who actually commit the crimes to the companies that make the tools. Comer points out that by this logic, nearly any manufacturer could be held liable for the illegal misuse of their products—a dangerous precedent that threatens not just gun rights, but the fundamental principle of personal responsibility.
The Oversight Committee also discovered that White House officials met with Glock representatives, pressuring them to change their pistol designs to make these illegal alterations harder. And wouldn’t you know it, Everytown for Gun Safety President John Feinblatt seemed to have inside knowledge of this meeting. Feinblatt even took to social media to blast Glock for refusing to “help” modify their guns, implying a level of collusion that Comer rightly questions.
In a June letter, Comer told Feldman, “Because this was a private meeting between Glock and the White House, Mr. Feinblatt seemed to have inside access to the White House meeting which raises questions about collusion with your Office.” Yet, neither the White House nor the ATF has provided any real answers, leaving Comer and the American people in the dark.
This isn’t just about a single lawsuit or a single city. This is about a coordinated effort to chip away at the Second Amendment and disarm law-abiding Americans, all while violent crime skyrockets in places like Chicago. Comer is fighting to hold this administration accountable, but the Biden-Harris team is more interested in hiding behind encrypted apps and dodging congressional oversight.
It’s time for the American people to wake up. The Biden administration’s actions aren’t just misguided—they’re dangerous. We need transparency, we need accountability, and most importantly, we need leaders who will stand up for our rights, not sell them out behind closed doors.
