Well, it’s happened again. A resurfaced clip of Vice President Kamala Harris has gone viral, revealing some truly eye-popping comments she made back in 2007 when she was San Francisco’s district attorney. Harris, who at the time was pushing a new law, openly stated that police should have the right to “walk into” people’s homes to inspect their legally-owned firearms. Let that sink in for a moment.

Harris’ comments came during a press conference when she was helping introduce an anti-gun law that she had a hand in writing. “We’re going to require responsible behaviors among everybody in the community,” she said, as if dictating from on high. “And just because you legally possess a gun in the sanctity of your locked home doesn’t mean that we’re not going to walk into that home and check to see if you’re being responsible and safe in the way you conduct your affairs.” You heard that right: the “sanctity” of your home, as she called it, apparently doesn’t mean much to her if it involves a legal firearm.

The law she was promoting at the time was eventually signed into law by then-San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom—no surprise there. It wasn’t just some small regulation either. As Fox News reported, the anti-gun bill included a package of sweeping gun control measures, from requiring gun distributors to submit inventory to the police every six months to banning the possession of firearms—yes, even legal ones—in public housing. The message was clear: if you legally own a firearm, you’re still going to be treated like a criminal.

Naturally, the NRA didn’t hold back. They blasted Harris in a post that featured the resurfaced video, warning, “Kamala Harris wants mass gun confiscation, and she’s willing to weaponize the government to enter your home and seize your legally owned guns.” Strong words, but are they far off the mark? This is the same Kamala Harris who’s now sitting in the White House, and it raises a very unsettling question: What else is she willing to do in the name of “public safety”?

The Trump campaign was quick to respond, calling Harris an “anti-gun RADICAL.” And it’s hard to argue otherwise when you see her on tape suggesting that law enforcement should have the power to storm into your private residence to inspect your legally owned property. Is this the kind of “responsibility” we want from our government? A government that feels it has the right to invade your home under the guise of checking up on you?

Let’s not forget what’s at stake here: the Second Amendment. The right to keep and bear arms is enshrined in the Constitution, but Harris’ comments from 2007 paint a very different picture of her view on individual freedoms. This isn’t about public safety; it’s about control. Her casual dismissal of the “sanctity” of a locked home makes it clear that, in her mind, government intrusion is not only justified but necessary if it serves her agenda.

And here’s the kicker: this isn’t some fringe statement made in a fit of passion. This was a premeditated policy initiative she helped craft and supported. The fact that it’s now coming back to light tells us a lot about the administration’s potential direction on gun control. This isn’t a warning; it’s a blueprint.

The conversation around gun rights and government control is not just a debate. It’s a fight for the heart of our freedoms. Kamala Harris’ past statements serve as a chilling reminder that there are politicians out there who view individual rights as obstacles rather than cornerstones of American liberty. So, before we brush this off as just another old clip making the rounds, we need to ask ourselves: how far are we willing to let our leaders go in the name of “responsibility”?
