Trump hammered her on abortion policy but never crossed into her team’s darkest hypotheticals. “He knew that line would be thin ice,” Harris conceded, “and it would enrage just about every woman in America.”

The revelations add a new layer to the final chaotic months of the 2024 election, when President Joe Biden dropped out of the race after questions about his health. Harris became the nominee almost overnight, with just 107 days to campaign before facing Trump.
