A bombshell new book is pulling back the velvet curtain on Queen Elizabeth II — and the picture it paints is far more mischievous than the public ever saw.

According to author Susan Page in The Queen and Her Presidents, the late monarch wasn’t just a symbol of poise — she was also a sharp-witted mimic who allegedly took playful jabs at some of America’s most high-profile first ladies.

One of her most eyebrow-raising impressions? Melania Trump.

The Queen reportedly portrayed Melania as “silent and remote,” channeling old Hollywood legend Greta Garbo and even quoting her famous line, “I want to be alone,” from the classic film Grand Hotel. The impression, described as cheeky and theatrical, was allegedly delivered behind closed doors — far from the cameras that captured their polished 2018 and 2019 meetings with President Donald Trump.

But Melania wasn’t the only target.

The book claims the Queen also poked fun at Nancy Reagan, mimicking her famously adoring gaze toward her husband, President Ronald Reagan. The impression reportedly surfaced during a California visit, adding another layer to the monarch’s private sense of humor.

Still, insiders insist the Queen’s impressions were never cruel — more playful than cutting — and part of a personality rarely seen by the public. Behind the formal wave and carefully chosen words was a leader who had spent decades navigating relationships with U.S. presidents from Harry Truman to Joe Biden.

Her bond with John F. Kennedy stood out as especially close, evolving into a personal friendship marked by handwritten letters and private meetings with Jacqueline Kennedy. And her connection with Reagan reportedly deepened over their shared love of horseback riding — and even a rare, spontaneous night out at a San Francisco tiki bar.

Despite the lighthearted impressions, the Queen famously kept her opinions tightly guarded in public. Even when pressed by Trump for insider gossip — including questions about her favorite U.S. president or the royal family drama surrounding Prince Harry — she refused to take the bait.

That restraint, paired with these newly revealed behind-the-scenes moments, paints a far more complex portrait of the late monarch: equal parts dignified diplomat and sly observer of the world’s most powerful figures.

And if this book is to be believed, she may have been quietly delivering some of the most unexpected royal commentary of all — just out of earshot.
