A routine landing turned into a heart-stopping moment after a passenger plane clipped a truck on a busy New Jersey highway — and it was all caught on dashcam.

The shocking incident happened just before 2 p.m. Sunday as a United Airlines flight was making its final approach into Newark Liberty International Airport.

According to officials, the aircraft first struck a light pole as it descended — but that wasn’t the end of it.

Moments later, the underside of the plane slammed into a tractor-trailer traveling along the New Jersey Turnpike. The impact was so intense that parts of the plane’s landing gear smashed through the truck’s window and windshield.

The truck driver was injured by flying glass, suffering cuts to his arm and hand. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but later released. Miraculously, no passengers or crew on board the plane were hurt.

Authorities say both the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration have launched investigations into how the close call unfolded.

New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill addressed the incident, saying she’s thankful the plane landed safely and that no one on board was injured. She added that early reports suggest the truck was directly involved and that officials are continuing to gather details.
