A brave Texas mother was not having it when she heard the sounds of intruders entering into her home where her children slept.

Officials have identified the man who was shot and killed by a woman after he allegedly tried to break into her home last Thursday night.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner said 42-year-old Roman Rodriguez died from a gunshot wound to the torso.

According to police, Rodriguez was trying to break into the back of the home in the 600 block of Kashmuir Place just before 10 p.m. while the woman and her three children were inside.

After hearing the man in the house, the woman pulled out a gun and shot the intruder in the chest, officials at the scene said. The woman then called police to report that she had shot an unknown male who was trying to break into her home, according to authorities.

When police arrived, they found the man sitting on a chair, bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
