In a shocking turn of events that has left the Bronx reeling, a prosecutor has abruptly resigned after being caught in a damning situation that shakes the very foundation of the justice system he once served. William C.C. Kemp-Neal, a 30-year-old assistant district attorney, has been captured on video allegedly attempting to meet a young boy he had communicated with online. The footage, produced by the vigilant group known as Dads Against Predators, reveals the grim encounter and has sent shockwaves through the community.
The scandal broke when Dads Against Predators posted a video showing Kemp-Neal in the parking lot of a Target store on East Sandford Boulevard in Mount Vernon. The clip, taken on July 8 at around 8:30 p.m., shows the vigilantes confronting a man they identified as Kemp-Neal, questioning if he was “Marcus.” Kemp-Neal, who graduated from Fordham Law in 2021 and earned $84,990 annually as an ADA, immediately fled the scene, prompting a chaotic chase.
As the men chased Kemp-Neal, they shouted to bystanders, “Excuse me everybody, this man right here came to meet a 13-year-old boy.” The pursuit ended when a random man intervened, putting Kemp-Neal in a chokehold. The footage shows the former prosecutor struggling to breathe and trying to escape while one of the vigilantes interrogates him, sarcastically asking, “You wanna take him to get a milkshake, right Marcus?” Kemp-Neal, visibly distressed and denying the allegations, is seen being manhandled, his eyes bulging as the chokehold intensified.
Mount Vernon Police arrived at the chaotic scene and questioned the individuals involved. Despite the intense confrontation, no arrests were made. The police issued a statement saying officers “encountered several individuals making allegations of wrongdoing” and promised a thorough investigation.
Despite the gravity of the situation, Kemp-Neal has not been charged with any crime. The Bronx District Attorney’s office, in a statement, confirmed Kemp-Neal’s resignation, stating, “William Kemp-Neal worked here as an ADA from June 28, 2020, until July 17, 2024. He resigned from the office.” Attempts to reach Kemp-Neal for comment have been unsuccessful.
This incident raises serious questions about the integrity of those sworn to uphold the law. How could someone entrusted with prosecuting crimes, particularly those involving child endangerment, find themselves in such a compromising position? The community deserves answers, and the promise of a comprehensive investigation must be fulfilled to restore faith in the justice system.
As this story unfolds, one thing remains clear: the very people who are supposed to protect the vulnerable have once again shown that they are not above the law. The public must remain vigilant and demand accountability, ensuring that justice is served, no matter who the perpetrator may be.
