On Friday, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. went scorched earth on the Democratic Party, accusing them of orchestrating a palace coup against President Joe Biden to replace him with one of the most unpopular vice presidents in American history—Kamala Harris. Harris, who once struggled to gain any traction with voters, is now suddenly leading former President Donald Trump in the polls. How did this happen? According to Kennedy, it’s all part of a calculated and undemocratic move by the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
Kennedy’s response has been swift. He announced the withdrawal of his name from the ballot in at least two key battleground states—Arizona and Pennsylvania—citing the Democratic Party’s underhanded tactics. However, he made it clear that he would remain on the ballot in states where the outcome is already a foregone conclusion, whether they lean Republican or Democrat. The move comes as Democrats are ramping up their lawfare tactics, targeting Kennedy in the same way they’ve gone after Trump. But Kennedy isn’t backing down, and he’s not mincing words.
“In the name of saving democracy, the Democratic Party set itself to dismantling it,” Kennedy said, laying bare the DNC’s hypocrisy. “Lacking confidence in its candidate—that its candidate could win in a fair election at the voting booth—the DNC waged continual legal warfare against both President Trump and myself.”
Kennedy didn’t stop there. He exposed the sham primary the DNC ran, a primary rigged to protect Biden from any serious challengers. But when Biden faltered—as everyone expected he would—the DNC wasted no time in executing their coup. “A predictably bungled debate performance precipitated the palace coup against President Biden,” Kennedy continued. “The same, shadowy DNC operatives appointed his successor—also without an election.”
And who did they appoint? None other than Kamala Harris, a candidate so unpopular with voters that she dropped out of the 2020 race before even winning a single delegate. Kennedy described the DNC’s move as “profoundly undemocratic,” a stark departure from the Democratic Party of his uncle and father, who prided themselves on open debate and the battle of ideas.
“My uncle and my father both relished debate,” Kennedy said. “They prided themselves on their capacity to go toe-to-toe with any opponent in the battle over ideas. They would be astonished to learn of a Democratic Party presidential nominee who, like Vice President Harris, has not appeared in a single interview or an unscripted encounter with voters for 35 days. This is profoundly undemocratic.”
Kennedy posed a crucial question: “How are people to choose when they don’t know whom they are choosing? And how can this look to the rest of the world?”
Kennedy then turned his sights on the corporate left-wing media, blasting them for their complicity in the DNC’s scheme. “Instead of showing us her substance and character, the DNC and its media organs engineered a surge of popularity for Vice President Harris based upon—nothing,” Kennedy declared. “No policies, no interviews, no debates. Only smoke and mirrors.”
It’s a shocking claim, but one that’s hard to dispute when you look at the numbers. Harris currently leads Trump by 1.5 points, according to the RealClearPolitics average. But how could someone who was so unpopular just last year now be leading in the polls? According to an NBC News poll, 49 percent of registered voters had a negative view of Harris just a year ago. Yet, here we are, with Harris suddenly on top.
But here’s the kicker: More than 70 percent of Democrats and independents who voted for Biden in 2020 have no idea what Harris’ policy positions are. That’s right—Media Research Center conducted a poll among 1,200 registered Democrats and independents who voted for Biden in 2020, and between 71% and 86% of them said they either hadn’t heard of Harris’s positions or were unsure.
This is the candidate the DNC is pushing to replace Biden, a candidate shrouded in secrecy, whose sudden rise can only be explained by the rigged system Kennedy is now fighting against. The question now is, will the American people see through the DNC’s coup, or will they be swayed by the smoke and mirrors? Only time will tell, but Kennedy’s warning couldn’t be clearer: Democracy itself is at stake.
