Trump firebrand demands Republicans get serious—or lose their base’s wallet

Conservative firebrand Laura Loomer is done playing nice with the GOP—and she’s not afraid to say it. In a fiery call-to-action posted to X, the Trump-aligned activist accused Republican leaders of turning a blind eye to what she calls “the threat of Islam in America”—and urged MAGA donors to slam their wallets shut until something changes.

“We’re funding our own destruction,” Loomer warned, calling on the Republican base to boycott donations to GOP candidates, PACs, and party committees unless they take immediate steps to confront “pro-jihad foreign influence in U.S. politics.”

‘This Is War for Our Civilization’

Loomer, who has built a sizable following among Trump’s most loyal supporters, didn’t hold back. “The GOP is complicit in the rise of Islamic extremism,” she posted Tuesday afternoon. “They refuse to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist group. They ignore the fact that Islamic candidates are being propped up with foreign money funneled through radical Super PACs. This is unacceptable.”

She added: “If the Republican Party is willing to allow an Islamic caliphate to take root in our country, they don’t deserve a single penny from us.”

Loomer, who has 1.7 million followers on X and ties to several high-dollar conservative donors, warned GOP leadership that she would personally begin contacting megadonors to halt their contributions. “And I know a lot of them,” she emphasized.

Targeting Omar and the Muslim Brotherhood

The callout came shortly after Loomer criticized Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) for posting “Alhamdulillah”—Arabic for “Praise be to God”—after fellow progressive Zohran Mamdani defeated Andrew Cuomo in the New York City mayoral primary. Loomer blasted the post, writing: “This is the United States. Speak English. We do not say ‘Alhamdulillah.’”

She also took direct aim at House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), accusing him of failing to address Islamic extremism. “We have allowed anti-American terrorist sympathizers into office,” Loomer said. “Over 2 million illegal alien ‘gotaways’ are in the country. What is @SpeakerJohnson doing about it?”

Echoing Trump-Era Policies and Demands

The activist also demanded action from President Trump and Vice President JD Vance, slamming them for remaining “silent” on Mamdani’s alleged financial ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.

“President Trump was right to call out the Muslim Brotherhood,” she wrote. “It’s time for action. When will the Trump administration designate them as terrorists?”

That designation may not be far off. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) recently announced plans to reintroduce his “Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist Designation Act,” originally introduced in 2015 and revived multiple times since. The act would formally classify the Egyptian-founded group as a foreign terrorist organization—a move conservatives have pushed for years.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) followed suit this month, introducing her own version of the bill shortly after an Egyptian national allegedly carried out a violent terror attack at a Jewish event in Colorado. “The Muslim Brotherhood doesn’t just support terrorism—it inspires it,” Mace said. “It’s time we call them what they are: terrorists.”

The Bigger Picture: Islamist Influence in U.S. Politics?

Loomer’s boycott plea taps into a broader concern on the right over foreign interference in American politics—particularly from Islamist organizations. The Muslim Brotherhood, founded in Egypt in 1928, has long been accused of inspiring jihadist ideology despite claims that it renounced violence in the 1970s. It has been banned as a terror group in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

Critics argue that U.S.-based political candidates with ties to Brotherhood-linked groups may be receiving support masked as grassroots donations. The lack of transparency and failure to designate the Brotherhood as a terror group, they say, opens the door to deeper foreign influence.

For Loomer, that threat is already here—and the GOP, she warns, is too afraid to do anything about it.

“If the Republican Party doesn’t have the spine to confront this now,” she said, “then it’s up to us to starve the beast.”
