A flight arriving in Houston turned into a frightening experience for passengers on Sunday when a plane’s tires blew out as it landed.

The Boeing 737 had taken off earlier that day from Chicago O’Hare International Airport and was carrying 179 passengers along with six crew members, according to officials.

As the aircraft touched down in Houston, passengers say they heard a loud thud, followed by a jolt as the plane bounced on the runway. Panic spread through the cabin as people screamed, unsure of what was happening.

Despite the scare, no one was injured in the incident. Emergency crews quickly responded, and passengers were transported safely from the aircraft to the terminal by bus.

Investigators are now working to determine what caused the tire damage.

The airline has not released additional details, but the Federal Aviation Administration is expected to review the incident as part of standard procedure following landing gear failures or tire blowouts.
