Pregnant Mom of Two Killed While Biking With Her Family in Horrifying Accident

A family bike ride in Los Angeles ended in devastating tragedy after a pregnant mother was fatally struck by a car while riding alongside her husband and two young children.

Regan Cole-Graham, 36, was seven months pregnant with a baby girl when she was killed Saturday evening in the seaside neighborhood of Playa del Rey, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police said Cole-Graham was riding an electric bike with her husband, Matt Graham, and their two children around 6 p.m. when she was struck by a sedan traveling in the same direction. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors delivered her unborn baby before she was pronounced dead.

The baby girl was transported to the NICU at UCLA Children’s Hospital, but later died, according to a GoFundMe page created to support the family.

“Tragically, Regan’s cherished baby girl passed away last night,” the fundraiser stated. “Please continue to hold Matt and the boys in your thoughts and prayers. We are all truly grateful for the outpouring of support.”

The driver, described by police as an elderly man, remained at the scene. Investigators said drugs or alcohol are not believed to have played a role in the crash.

Cole-Graham is being remembered by loved ones as a “loving and devoted wife, a fierce and joyful mother, a hilarious and loyal sister, and a beautiful, fiery daughter.” The fundraiser notes that donations will help cover funeral expenses and assist Matt as he cares for their children moving forward.

Public attention to the fundraiser grew after independent journalist Chris Cillizza shared the page on X, explaining that he was a college friend of Matt Graham.

“I wanted to share a tragedy with you all. And ask you for help,” Cillizza wrote. “On Saturday night, my college friend Matt Graham, his wife Regan Cole-Graham, and their two young boys were riding bikes in Los Angeles. She was struck by a car and killed. She was also seven months pregnant with their third child — a little girl.”

Photos shared on the fundraiser show the family smiling together at the beach at sunset, Regan’s pregnant belly visible, along with wedding photos and moments captured with their sons.

As of Tuesday morning, the GoFundMe campaign had raised more than $144,000, as friends, strangers, and members of the community rallied around a family grappling with unimaginable loss.
