Chaos at Chick-fil-A After Shooting Leaves 1 Dead and Multiple Injured

A late-night trip for food turned into chaos after gunfire erupted inside a Chick-fil-A, leaving one person dead and several others injured.

Police rushed to the scene on Route 22 in Union County around 9 p.m. Saturday night after reports of shots fired inside the restaurant. By the time officers arrived, the situation had already turned deadly.

Authorities confirmed that one person was killed at the scene, while at least six others were shot in the terrifying incident. Victims’ identities have not yet been released, and officials have not confirmed how many suspects may be involved.

“This is an active and ongoing investigation,” said Union County Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson Lauren Farinas, adding that more details will be shared as they become available.

As investigators work to piece together what happened, witnesses are describing a horrifying scene inside the popular fast-food spot.

Family members say employees were locked inside the restaurant during the chaos as police swarmed the area. One father told reporters he rushed to the location after getting a frantic call from his son, claiming multiple masked suspects opened fire on workers.

He described the scene as nothing short of a “war zone.”

Others nearby said they heard the gunfire firsthand. A Lyft driver who had just completed a trip in the area recalled hearing multiple shots ring out before realizing something was seriously wrong.

“I heard the shots very close,” he said, explaining he had been heading toward the restaurant moments before police arrived.

The Union County Prosecutor’s Office is now leading the investigation, working alongside local police to determine what led to the violence and who is responsible.
