A New Jersey father of four has died in a devastating construction accident — just months after his family received life-changing good news.
Vincent “Vinny” Trotter was killed on April 13 when a large construction lift reportedly collapsed while being removed from a site in Clifton. According to reports, a flatbed truck was in the process of moving a boom lift when it suddenly tipped over.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene, but the accident proved fatal.
The tragedy comes at an especially painful time for Trotter’s family.
Just months earlier, his son Giovanni had beaten cancer after a long battle, bringing a moment of hope after an incredibly difficult period.
But the family’s challenges didn’t end there.
Trotter and his fiancée had also recently welcomed a baby girl, who was diagnosed with a serious condition known as brittle bone disease.
“This last year and a half has been rough,” his fiancée said. “But this is the worst thing that has ever happened.”
She described the emotional toll on their children, saying they went from being okay one moment to completely devastated the next.
Trotter had been the primary provider for the family, while his fiancée stayed home to care for their children.
Friends, loved ones, and members of their church community are now rallying around the family, remembering Trotter as a devoted partner and a loving father.
